What a YEAR! It would be an understatement even saying this year changed my life in a million different ways. I have grown more this year than I EVER have before. Mentally, physically, emotionally. I am so proud of the woman I've become this year and so I'm going to share my top 10 favorite moments/things that made this year unforgettable for me.
1. Moving to Atlanta. I never shut up about it LOL. Y'all already KNOW. What an incredible decision I made at the start of the year. The anxiety and pressure of moving felt unbearable at first but how amazing that I finally feel comfortable and accomplished. I really made that happen this year!
2. Went on vacation with my family. Such an amazing week. I always look forward to spending time with my family and it was the most fun getaway. I need to be back at the beach asap. I miss it ughhh.
3. Booking first ATL job - BET Awards. This job in particular was extra special to me because it was my first Atlanta accomplishment. I was working my butt off for 4 months before this came along and I am so grateful. We worked for a week before heading to LA and the feeling of being on stage for the first time in forever was unbeatable. It was the reassurance that I was in the right place and everything was meant to be.
4. Choreographing 42 pieces in a month over the summer. A TOTALLY different accomplishment but wow was this summer a challenge. My sister and I were grinding day in and out to make everything happen and we did it. I’m so excited for this upcoming competition season and to see our kids shine on stage.
5. Getting to spend a month in LA and work on three amazing jobs. I had missed LAAAA. It was so much fun getting to be back. See some friends, take class, be on the beach, and just hang out. It was so fun getting to reunite with Chloe and the girls and be working again. I loved every single minute of it.
6. Being a part of the skeleton crew for the upcoming Megalopolis movie. I am now just realizing I never even made an Instagram post about this LOL. I spent two weeks just diving deep into creating with some of my amazing friends and it was a once in a lifetime experience. I can’t really share much but hopefully there will be more things about this later!
7. Getting to be a part of the SZA "Shirt" Visual. This was a crazy moment for me because I literally made a TikTok in 2021 dancing to that exact song in my room in Ohio and a year later I was literally dancing in a video that’s now on her Youtube channel. Another moment where it just makes you realize you’re actually following your dreams.
8. 5 years w my boyfriendddddd. AHHHHH. So unbelievably crazy that we’ve been dating for that long because I don’t understand how he’s not sick of me yet. LOL. I feel like every single time I see him I just fall more in love. (Cringe I know. :,)) I know 5 years is still only the beginning for us and I can’t wait to see where we go in the future.
9. Feeling like I’ve finally established amazing friends in ATL who love and support me. This is a big one because this took FOREVER. Moving to a city where you don’t know anyone at first is so unbelievably lonely. There have been so many times where I’ve cried to my mom just feeling alone because it’s hard to make friends when you’re new to a city and everyone else already has their own friends. But we’ve made it y’all. I’m just so happy and feel so loved and supported. :)
10. All around finally following my dreams. :) Taught a class at XCel for the first time, placed on hold for two auditions, got callbacks for 4 auditions, booked 6 paid jobs this year, and was a part of a few other non-paid videos, projects, and performances that were so unbelievably special and meant so much to me. For being new to ATL and not having a single connection to anyone when I moved in February, this is a crazy big deal to me. I’m so so excited for the new year and all of the opportunities it can possibly bring. Let’s go 2023!!
